DURAN^®. Dismountable, modular filter holders with screwthreaded top manifold, PP funnel outlet and two FKM seals. Accessory sintered filter discs (9.052 941 to 9.052 954) are screwed in between two FKM seals. The filter discs are easy to replace. Membrane or paper filters can be stretched across the disc. Filter plates must be ordered separately.

The DURAN^® filtering apparatus is made of high-quality borosilicate glass. Aside from glass, the medium only comes into chemical contact with PTFE. This means that the filtering apparatus can be used to filter virtually any chemical. Thanks to the PTFE disc holder, fritted glass discs of different porosities can be used in addition to the slit-sieve disc. This creates a wide application scope for filtration using filter paper, membrane filters (47mm) or simply using glass filters. Different porosities are available between 10µm and 160µm, which makes it possible to perform coarse and fine filtration in addition to analytical filtration. Furthermore, the filtering apparatus is suitable for the filtration of HPLC media, testing for bacterial contamination, residue analysis and the filtration of other media.

The DURAN^® TILT Light Shield is a removable white silicone sleeve that covers 94% of the bottle surface. The sleeve blocks damaging ultraviolet light, protects the glass surface from damage, and facilitates safer handling.

The DURAN^® GL 56 Bottle Tags can be used for individual colour coding or for fixing the light shield to the bottle.

DURAN^® bottle top vacuum filtration units for use with the TILT bottle (using an adaptor) or 45 mm media bottles. Manufactured in a Class 100,000 Cleanroom from Class VI non-cytotoxic materials. Supplied sterile.

The Whatman Mini-UniPrep™ filter provides a quick and easy means of removing particles from HPLC samples. In comparison to other methods the amount of time required for sample preparation is reduced to one third. Mini-Uni-Prep™ is a ready-to-use filter unit consisting of a 0.4ml chamber and a plunger. The plunger contains a filtration membrane at one end and a cap with septum at the other. The plunger is pressed through the sample in the chamber. The pressure generated forces the filtrate into the plunger reservoir, with air escaping through the vent hole until the locking mechanism engages to form an airtight seal. The unit can now be placed in any autosampler and the sample analysed.

The Stericup® vacuum filtration system combines a filtrate collection bottle with a Steritop™ filter unit. The stability of the unit during filtration is improved by the conical shape of the collection bottle. This makes handling much easier. Even for use under laminar flow conditions the slim, compact shape is qualified. Stacking the closed bottles on top of each other is feasible, thanks to the slightly curved bottom.

The Millipore glass filter holder was developed especially for the filtration of various liquids. However, the filter can also be used for other purposes such as HPLC solvent production. The vacuum connection is integrated on the filter holder base and the piston cap, above the filtrate outlet level. This prevents the filtrate from accidentally entering the vacuum tubes.

The Biopak® final filter is a disposable ultrafiltration module that is installed directly at the extraction point of Milli-Q water treatment systems. The filter produces pyrogen and nuclease-free ultrapure water for up to three months. The final filter consists of a white ABS housing and polysulfone hollow fibers.

For cell culture, Greiner Bio-One offers standard and filter cap cell culture flasks with growth areas of four different sizes. Suspension culture flasks complete the range in another sizes.They are made of high-grade polystyrene. Used for large volumes of aqueous samples. Presterilized. Contains a nylon membrane which is inherently hydrophilic, has low extractables, is bio-safe and has excellent flow rates. A glass microfibre prefilter ensures a long working life for the main filter and allows the easy filtration of large volumes and difficult samples.
