Syringe filters

Mini-cartridge filters are inserted into a stainless steel housing. The bayonet closure provides a secure seal against back-pressure surges. An inner O-ring seals the lower part of the housing (except for the aeration housing). For the filtration of larger volumes and for long service lives. Individually tested. Their integrity can be checked at any time. Can be autoclaved repeatedly.

There are several different types which differ in the filter material used:

Sartobran-P
Heterogeneous double membrane of cellulose acetate, for the sterile filtration of liquids.

Sartofluor
Hydrophobic PTFE membrane filter, for the sterile filtration of air and gases.

Sartopure-PP3
High performance PP fleece prefilters for particle reduction.

In polysulphone for use with syringes for analytical and preparative use. Filtration-media must be selected separately.

Applications of FP 025/1:
Clarification and sterile filtration of aqueous liquids and gases.
Applications of FP 050/1:
Sampling and flow rate applications. Ideal for filtrations using peristaltic pumps and for gas sterilisation.

Housing PP. NY (Nylon) and NY25 Plus (Glass Fiber 0.7 µm² + Nylon).

This is a rather hydrophilic membrane; it is recommended for filtration of aqueous and organic/aqueous medium polar liquids.
Excellent chemical compatibility with esters, bases and alcohols.
Sterile filters individually blister-packed.

For the ready-to-use filter units only virgin raw material is used. This ensures that there is no interaction with the sample to be filtered, provided that the units are used properly. The filter units are intended for laboratory use only and at temperatures up to 60°C.
Note: If syringes with a volume <10 ml are used, a pressure could be created which exceeds the max. operating pressure (700 kPa/7 bar) of the filter unit. EtO-sterilized = endotoxin free according to LAL-Test (USPXXIII), Sensitivity: 0.25EU/ml.

The Whatman Mini-UniPrep™ filter provides a quick and easy means of removing particles from HPLC samples. In comparison to other methods the amount of time required for sample preparation is reduced to one third. Mini-Uni-Prep™ is a ready-to-use filter unit consisting of a 0.4ml chamber and a plunger. The plunger contains a filtration membrane at one end and a cap with septum at the other. The plunger is pressed through the sample in the chamber. The pressure generated forces the filtrate into the plunger reservoir, with air escaping through the vent hole until the locking mechanism engages to form an airtight seal. The unit can now be placed in any autosampler and the sample analysed.

Amber colorant prevents photo degradation of light sensitive samples. Same colorant used in pharmaceutical containers designed to meet USP specifications for light resistance. Translucent amber chamber and plunger enable easy visual inspection

Durable yet flexible slit septum cap has been specially designed for instruments with sensitive sampling needs. Sample evaporation is minimal.

Comprise a 5ml capacity, medical grade polypropylene test tube which initially holds the sample, and hollow plunger incorporating a filter at the tip. In use the sample is manually pressure filtered into the plunger which then acts as a storage vial for the filtered sample. The plunger has a removable cap. Non-sterile.
