Pomiar BZT jest ważnym pomiarem wpływu ścieków domowych i przemysłowych na oczyszczalnie ścieków i punkty odpływowe. System czujników BD 600 jest systemem 6 próbek, który umożliwia precyzyjne pomiary BZT w oparciu o zasadę manometryczną. Respirometry manometryczne odnoszą pobór tlenu do zmiany ciśnienia spowodowanej zużyciem tlenu przy zachowaniu stałej objętości. Dzięki nowoczesnym integralnym czujnikom ciśnienia, nie jest konieczne używanie rtęci do pomiarów. Wartości BZT są zapisywane automatycznie w pamięci czujnika w regularnych odstępach czasu i mogą być w każdej chwili wywołane na wielkoformatowym wyświetlaczu bez konieczności czasochłonnego przeliczania za pomocą współczynników. Oznacza to, że serie testowe, które kończą się w niedzielę, mogą być bez problemu oceniane w następnym tygodniu. Serie pomiarowe mogą być zapisywane w pamięci USB/kartach SD lub przenoszone przez kabel USB w celu oceny danych na komputerze. Okres pomiarowy jest wybierany przez użytkownika w zakresie od 1 do 28 dni w zależności od zastosowania.
