Żel jest naturalnie pomarańczowy podczas aktywności i przy 6% poziomie saturacji. Podczas absorbowania wilgoci żel zmienia kolor na zielony.
Zakres aplikacji jest identyczny jak białego żelu krzemionkowego. Zmiana koloru umożliwia monitorowanie poziomu saturacji. Istnieje możliwość regeneracji poprzez ogrzewanie do temp. maks. 120 °C, do momentu powrotu do oryginalnego koloru.

For moisture reduction in desiccators and precision laboratory instruments. The transparent polypropylene dish allows visual inspection of silica gel, which changes in colour from blue to pale pink as it absorbs moisture. The desiccant can be easily regenerated by heating cartridges in an oven at 50°C overnight or at 100°C for 6 hours. For faster regeneration, remove the membrane lid, heat the spent gel crystals in a suitable glass or porcelain dish at 150°C in the oven for one hour.
