LABSOLUTE® offers a comprehensive range of syringe filters that have been developed especially for the efficient filtration of aqueous and organic solutions and for ventilation. SETUP

The syringe filters have either acrylic or PP housing. Both housing versions have Luer connections, and the membrane is secured in the housing so that the sample fluid cannot flow around the membrane.

LABSOLUTE® syringe filters with a filter membrane diameter of 25 mm are ideal for the preparation of samples with a volume from 1.5 ml to 100 ml. The effective filtration area is 4.6 cm². This, in combination with the stable housing pressure resistant to 5 bar made from polypropylene (transparent) or acrylic (pore size 0.22 µm blue or pore size 0.45 µm yellow), ensures rapid filtration. The non-sterile filters are packed in quantities of 500 in polypropylene pouches, while sterile filters are packaged individually in blisters in quantities of 50 per box.

LABSOLUTE® syringe filters with a filter membrane diameter of 13 mm are ideal for the preparation of small-volume samples in which a very small dead volume is particularly important. The effective filtration area is 0.6 cm² . The housing, made from blue (pore size 0.22 µm) or yellow (pore size 0.45 µm) acrylic, is pressure resistant to 5 bar. The non-sterile filters are packed in quantities of 500 in polypropylene pouches, while sterile filters are packaged individually in blisters in quantities of 50 per box.

An additional blue reclosable PP box offers further protection for the filters during transportation. Due to their Luer Lock-Inlet (female) an easy and safe installation of the filter on the syringe is guaranteed. The outlet is designed as Luer Slip (male). Thorough quality controls before and after the manufacturing process guarantee a constantly high quality of the membrane material as well as of the complete filter unit.

Housing PP. Regenerated cellulose (RC). Ready-to-use units with a hydrophilic, solvent-resistant membrane made of regenerated cellulose, making sample preparation quick and easy. Suitable for aqueous/organic solutions.

For the ready-to-use filter units only virgin raw material is used. This ensures that there is no interaction with the sample to be filtered, provided that the units are used properly. The filter units are intended for laboratory use only and at temperatures up to 60°C.
Note: If syringes with a volume <10 ml are used, a pressure could be created which exceeds the max. operating pressure (700 kPa/7 bar) of the filter unit. EtO-sterilized = endotoxin free according to LAL-Test (USPXXIII), Sensitivity: 0.25EU/ml.

Filters with 0.2µm pores have a yellow upper housing, for filters with 0.45µm pores this is colourless; the different membrane types are distinguished by different colours
Low dead volume
~80µl for 25mm, 35µl for 15mm, 5µl for 3mm.

Specifications
The membrane housing consists of polypropylene (PP). This material is very resistant towards most solvents and has a very low extractable substances content. Thus it can be used with almost all solvents, acids and bases (see table). The especially thick rim of the housing is ideal for use with laboratory robots (e.g. Benchmate™). Filter inlet and filter outlet can be fitted to the CHROMABOND^® columns for selective sample preparation with the aid of a special adaptor. All filters can be autoclaved at 121°C and 1.1bar for 30min.

Chromafil™Xtra:
Labelled for method validation and certification. Colour-free plain polypropylene housing. Imprint for direct identification of the membrane type, diameter and pore size.
A hydrophobic membrane. Ideal for filtration of non-polar liquids and gases. It is very resistant to various solvents as well as acids and bases. By flushing with alcohol, followed by water, the original hydrophobic membrane can be made more hydrophilic.
